Donation to Prostate Cancer Awareness

In amongst the training and playing hockey at the highest level for the Vantage Black Sticks, Natasha FitzSimons is a ‘Prostate Cancer Foundation Ambassador’. Having had a family member diagnosed with Prostate cancer, Natasha was very keen to get alongside the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Blue September coincided with the National Hockey League Championship and Natasha’s Bayleys Midlands Women team mates donned light blue ribbon in their hair to help spread the ‘How Blue will you do?’ campaign over the week long tournament held in Wellington.  In true fighting spirit the girls worked hard over the week to make the final and be crowned ‘National Champions’.  Bayleys Waikato/BOP sponsorship manager Allison Stewart noted ‘our business is all about people and we value the people within our sponsor partnerships; I was thrilled to see the girls fly the blue ribbon of support for Prostate Awareness. Bayleys is donating $1000 in the name of Midlands Hockey to acknowledge the hardwork, grit, determination and social conscience that this group of woman has displayed’ said Allison.  ‘We are proud of the win and proud of the people they are’ she added.
